Sambata a fost o zi extrem de importanta pentru Familia Regala! Meghan Markle si Printul Harry l-au botezat pe micutul Archie. Bebelusul a fost crestinat in cadrul unei ceremonii private ce s-a desfasurat la capela St. George de pe domeniul Windsor.

Dovada a faptului ca a fost un eveniment cat se poate de privat o reprezinta numarul redus al invitatilor la ceremonie. Doar 25 de persoane au participat la botezul fiului Printului Harry si al lui Meghan Markle.

This morning, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was christened in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle at an intimate service officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are so happy to share the joy of this day with members of the public who have been incredibly supportive since the birth of their son. They thank you for your kindness in welcoming their first born and celebrating this special moment. Their Royal Highnesses feel fortunate to have enjoyed this day with family and the godparents of Archie. Their son, Archie, was baptised wearing the handmade replica of the royal christening gown which has been worn by royal infants for the last 11 years. The original Royal Christening Robe, made of fine Honiton lace lined with white satin, was commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1841 and first worn by her eldest daughter. It was subsequently worn for generations of Royal christenings, including The Queen, her children and her grandchildren until 2004, when The Queen commissioned this handmade replica, in order for the fragile historic outfit to be preserved, and for the tradition to continue. Cel care l-a crestinat pe primul nascut al Printului Harry este arhiepiscopul de Canterbury, Justin Welby, liderul spiritual al Bisericii Anglicane.

Se pare ca marii absenti de la eveniment au fost insasi Regina Elisabeta si Printul Philip, care au avut alte angajamente oficiale de onorat in acea zi.

La doar cateva ore dupa crestinarea celui mic, Meghan Markle si Printul Harry au publicat primele fotografii oficiale de la botezul lui Archie pe contul lor oficial de Instagram. Sunt, de altfel, primele fotografii in care putem sa ii vedem chipul micutului.

La ceremonie, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a purtat o replica a rochiei Honiton, aceeasi tinuta cu care au fost imbracati la botez si verisorii sai, Printul George, Printesa Charlotte si Printul Louis. Asa prevede traditia regala.
